  Cart Witnessing - Thrilling! Productive! Epic! Er.....um, well, not so much.....

  talked with a pioneer recently, she was recounting her first experience with cart witnessing.. she brought the subject up, was going on & on & on & on about how wonderful the experience was, and how great, and how she enjoyed it so much, and it was so wonderful, and oh jehovah's blessing, and on and on and on...... a few questions to her revealed what really happened:.

  -- a jw who owns a small restaurant in a strip mall allows jws to set up their cart outside his restaurant.

  -- the restaurant is tucked pretty far out of the way, not prominent at all.

  When looking at this application 1 Co. 13:4,5 comes to mind.
  The application is clearly going against this bible text concerning "keeping account of the injury".

  why are only pioneers allowed to do "metropolitan witnessing"?

  why do they need "special training" to stand like a zombie for hours, speaking only to their fellow elite?.

  even a pioneer's mother couldn't answer me!.

  So I am in Germany and this is what I know about the "Metropolitan witnessing", I did it once.

  Each person had to attend a three hour instruction session.
  

  Here is what I can remember.

  Some time was spent explaining how the publisher should react if approached by the police or some other authoritative figure, what the laws are regarding this type of work and other relevant legislative problems that could occur when doing this type of work.

  Where and when the carts are to be picked up and brought back and the shift changeover.

  Where to stand and where not to stand with the carts, and basically in Germany they cannot be in one location for more than 15 mins. so they are always on the move.

  How to react if anybody acts aggressively towards them, one of the things that was stressed was not protect the carts or the literature if anybody deliberately tries to do damage, but to call the police. Any incident should also be reported back to the elders.

  Another thing is that they are not to try and engage anybody in conversation, this is something that many here have commented on, but they really are instructed not to do so. Exception being when they are approached, then they can have a conversation.

  But the time I did do this, I though what an absolute waste of time.

  i started posting on the ex community about five years ago since two of my children have remained under the jw spell.

  back then i had little tangible hope of seeing the downfall of the org.

  i now see evidence of big cracks forming in their hermetic carapace..

  It really pissed me off, and I did cry after realizing that they took away 28 years of my life.

  what is the correct spelling of gods proper name"yahweh or jehovah"?

  if the jw's maintain that yahweh is more proper, why do they misspell it "jehovah"?

  if the name of god is so important, then you should not only pronounce it correctly, but spell it correctly too.

  With the tetragrammaton the Jews used two different sets of vowel, with one set of vowels they would say "Elohim" and with the other set they would say "Adhonay". Only when combining these vowels with the tetragrammaton could anything resembling "Jehovah" be pronounced.

  The first recorded use of the word "Jehova(h)" was in the thirteenth century by a Spanish monk, Raymundus Martini in his book Pugeu Fedei.

  This information can be found in the old bOrg book, "Aid to Bible Understanding" on page 884, the last paragraph on the page.

  I do agree with cappytan on this, there are more serious issues to criticize the bOrg on.

  tomorrow's wt study, paragraph 4 says this - "the early bible students understood the expression rendered in the king james version "my brethren" to refer to those who would rule with christ as well as to all of mankind after they are restored to earthly perfection.".

  rutherford decided in 1923 to change this teaching, and create an elite group of christians.

  for 92 years the men running the wtbts have perpetuated & embellished this false teaching - especially so during the past three years - and hidden the bible truth about christ's brothers from millions of people fearful to question the org - created doctrine!.

  If I had read this article about a year ago, I would have just accepted it as written and not thought about it as any drone does. But now as a proud apostate it is so blatantly obvious that they are describing themselves as JeffT rightly says. Its also full of lies, half truths and hypocrisy, I am truly thankful to this forum and the views of others that help me to regain my critical thinking ability.
